Eugene L. Grant, Program Chair, a partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, is co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate and Land
Use Department. His experience includes all aspects of real
estate transactions and land use entitlement work on all types
and sizes of property including residential, industrial, office,
retail and municipal.
Patrick Allen is the Acting Administrator of Oregon’s Building Codes Division. There he manages a staff of over 100 employees responsible for setting state standards for plumbing, electrical, structural and other construction work, providing inspections for specialized structures like boilers and elevators, licensing construction trades, and overseeing the administration of the building code through local building departments across Oregon.
Robert Burchfield is a City Traffic Engineer with the City of Portland, Oregon. He has 28+ years of experience in municipal
traffic engineering, the last 23 of which he has worked for the
City of Portland. He has primary responsibility for the
management of Traffic Operations and Safety on city streets.
Daniel B. Cooper is attorney for Metro, an elected regional
government for the Portland area. Metro serves more than 1.4
million residents in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington
counties and the 25 cities in the Portland region.
Jim Desmond was appointed Director of Metro’s new Sustainability
Center in 2008, where he oversees a broad array of
programs including natural area acquisition, regional parks planning
and development, science and land stewardship.
Stephen W. Domreis, AIA, is an architect and principal of GBD Architects. GBD is nationally recognized for rehabilitating
urban and historical landmarks with a firm commitment to
and respect for the environment.
Chris Forney, a LEED Accredited Professional with Brightworks, has 10+ years’ architectural experience in Portland,
Oregon and Boston, Massachusetts. Project experience includes
multifamily residential, educational, institutional and commercial work.
Margi C. Lifsey is the Sustainability Program Manager at
the Oregon Department of Transportation. She is the lead at ODOT
on Climate Change, Sustainability and Green Infrastructure, and
she staffs the Oregon Global Warming Commission and the
Governor’s Task Force on Alternative Fuels.
Paul S. Logan, Assistant Attorney General, is a member of
the Natural Resources Section of the Oregon Department of Justice. He advises the Oregon Department of Environmental
Quality on a wide variety of air quality issues, including climate
change legislation.
Hank McDonald is the Commercial Divisions Inspection Manager for the Bureau of Development Services of the City
of Portland. He manages over 40 inspectors, and represents
the BDS on the City of Portland Green Building Technical
Advisory Committee.
David Posada serves as the Sustainability Coordinator for GBD Architects, where he provides expertise and training in the
LEED Certification process and acts as a resource person for green building and sustainable strategies. He has participated in
the design or documentation of over 20 projects that have
achieved or are pursuing certification.
Nathan M. Sasaki, Executive Director, opened the Portland
office of Apex Real Estate Partners in 2004. Prior to that, he
acquired and spent four years with Pacific Real Estate
Management Group, Inc. working with private equity clients,
local and national corporations, as well as Fortune 1000
Companies.
David E. Van’t Hof, a shareholder with Lane Powell PC, focuses his practice in the areas of sustainability, renewable energy and green building, drawing experience from his many years as a Sustainability Policy Advisor for the office of Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski. As advisor to the Governor, he led the state’s participation in the Western Climate Initiative.
Benjamin Walters is a Chief Deputy City Attorney in the Portland City Attorney’s Office where he supervises the general
municipal law section. Among other city agencies, the municipal
law section advises Portland’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability
and the Bureau of Development Services. Ben has
worked at the Portland City Attorney’s Office since 1986.
Jeffrey C. Wolfstone, a partner with Lane Powell PC, practices
in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance,
corporate law and governance, venture capital and private equity,
sustainability, and nonprofit corporations. He has been named a
“Super Lawyer” by Oregon Super Lawyers magazine and has
been listed in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business
since 2004.
