Mark S. Hennigh, Program Co-Chair, founding partner of Greene Radovsky Malone Share and Hennigh LLP, provides legal counsel in a broad range of real estate transactions, including
leasing, acquisition, construction, financing, development, tax-deferred
exchanges, energy, environmental, and regulatory.
Edward W. Zaelke, Program Co-Chair, is a managing partner
in the Los Angeles office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP. He focuses his practice on project development and finance,
with a particular emphasis on representing companies engaged
in the development, finance and operation of wind power and
other alternative energy projects.
Toby Cozart is a tax lawyer with offices in the San Francisco
Bay area who specializes in domestic and cross-border lease
and project financing, partnerships and limited liability companies,
and international leasing joint ventures. He recently advised solar
thermal and photovoltaic power developers regarding the choice
between lease and partnership financing structures.
George W. Hardie, III, is a senior business development executive at Pattern Energy Group LP, the North American energy development group of the former Babcock & Brown. He has been involved in the wind energy industry since 1991. Over his career, he has developed, acquired and/or financed more than a dozen projects in the US, UK and Central America.
Joseph M. Karp is a partner in Winston & Strawn LLP’s energy group who focuses his practice on regulatory, transactional, and project development matters. He has dealt with natural gas and electric issues in the United States and internationally.
Anne E. Mudge, a partner in Cox Castle & Nicholson LLP’s San Francisco office, represents clients in the areas of land use
and the environment. Her work includes siting and permitting
major energy (including wind, geothermal and gas-fired plants),
industrial, commercial, residential and mixed use projects.
Donald G. Ousterhout is a partner in Reed Smith LLP’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group. His practice focuses
on renewables and other energy-related transactions, including
acquisition and disposition of investments in energy projects,
project finance, construction and equipment transactions and
power purchase agreements. He has represented equipment
manufacturers, corporate financial investors, private equity funds
and developers.
Nancy Rader has 20 years of experience as a renewable energy
advocate. She has represented CalWEA since its inception in
2000, serving as its Executive Director since 2002. From 1994
to 1998, she served as policy advisor to and West Coast
Representative of the American Wind Energy Association, and was
honored as AWEA’s “Wind Industry Person of the Year” in 1996.
Vasilios “Bill” Salamandrakis with Chadbourne & Parke LLP, focuses on the development, acquisition, sale, and financing of
energy projects and real estate. His energy practice includes a
particular emphasis on representing companies engaged in the
development, construction, financing, purchase and sale of wind,
solar, and other alternative energy projects.
Jeff Schlichting, a principal of Sustainable Legacy LLC, specializes in the development of renewable power generation
projects, particularly wind energy. As a consultant to the power
industry, he has used his energy background as well as his work
in municipal finance and project finance to assist his clients in a
variety of transactions.
Dariush Shirmohammadi is the Chief Consultant with Shir Power Engineering Consultants, Inc. His 30-year tenure in the
electric power industry has primarily included technical leadership
positions in all areas of transmission and distribution planning
and operations, as well as in the design and implementation of
electricity markets.
Thomas W. Solomon is an attorney with Winston & Strawn LLP. He focuses his practice on energy matters including project development and finance.
Howard E. Susman is a member of the Renewable Energy Practice Group at Stoel Rives LLP, and Chair of its Solar
Initiative. He has a national reputation as one of the leading
lawyers involved in the wind industry and has represented wind
clients in every phase of project development, operation, and
transfer in both transactional and litigation matters.
James A. Walker, PhD, has been involved in international
energy activities for over 25 years. He is currently serving as
Vice Chairman of the Board of enXco, Inc. which operates
over 4,000 grid-connected wind turbines, has net ownership
of 178 MW of operating wind parks, and has land rights for
over 3,800 MW of wind projects in the U.S.
Steve Weissman is the Assoc. Director for Energy Law &
Policy at the Center for Law, Energy & the Environment Berkeley Law. Prior to this, he was an administrative law judge for the
California Public Utilities Commission and also served as policy
and legal advisor to three different commissioners. He is an energy
and environmental attorney, and an environmental mediator.
