David Ashton, Program Co-Chair, is Senior Assistant General Counsel for the Port of Portland and specializes in the area of environmental, natural resources, land use and environmental sustainability law. He also represents the Port on hazardous substance contamination matters, including Brownfields redevelopments, the Portland Harbor Superfund Site and cleanup and insurance recovery claims.
Sally Brick, Program Co-Chair, is a partner with K&L Gates LLP. She represents public and private clients in environmental, land use and natural resource matters. She has expertise under the Growth Management Act, the Shoreline Management Act, the State and National Environmental Policy Acts. In addition, she offers experience in international law, including climate change.
Michael A. Nesteroff, Program Co-Chair, is a shareholder with Lane Powell PC, a member of the firm’s environmental law practice group and editor of Environs, the firm’s newsletter on recent developments in environmental law. His practice focuses on environmental law, real estate litigation, securities litigation, and commercial litigation.
Thomas R. Wood, Program Co-Chair, a member with Stoel Rives LLP, focuses in the area of environmental law. He has significant experience in the areas of air quality and hazardous waste permitting and compliance. He has counseled some of the leading industries in the U.S. on environmental permitting issues, commercial transactions and the interrelationships between the two.
Allan F. Bedwell is Vice President and Director of CantorCO2e in the firm’s North American Sustainability Strategies Group. He and his team are helping a wide range of major companies manage greenhouse gas emissions for their operations and products in the face of rapidly evolving regulations, investor requirements, lender demands and consumer preferences.
Anthony Chavez, Public Affairs Manager for Weyerhaeuser Company, provides policy and regulatory support, with an emphasis on climate change and energy. His additional roles and responsibilities include media and community relations. Prior to joining Weyerhaeuser in 2005, he served five years in the United States Navy as a Judge Advocate General.
Robert W. Cromwell, Jr. is a Strategic Advisor in the Power Management Division of Seattle City Light. He represents Seattle City Light on regional and national matters in a policy capacity. He formerly litigated energy and telecommunications matters before the WUTC, the FERC, the FCC, and the courts.
Susan Elizabeth Drummond, Keynote Speaker,, Law Offices of Susan Elizabeth Drummond, practices land use law, assisting clients on project permitting, drafting regulations, and litigation and dispute resolution.
Stephanie Jones Stebbins, PE, is the Senior Manager of Seaport Environmental Programs at Port of Seattle. Her responsibilities include overseeing all environmental programs for the Port of Seattle Seaport.
Ross MacFarlane of Climate Solutions works to forge partnerships with businesses that are seeking to build the clean energy economy in the Pacific Northwest and helps promote strong climate and energy policy.
Elaine Oneil is a Research Associate for the University of Washington at the School of Forest Resources specializing in climate change impacts on forest health.
Nancy Pritchett manages the Rules and Planning unit of the Washington Department of Ecology’s Air Quality Program. Prior to her management position, Nancy was the lead rule writer for Washington’s GHG emissions reporting rule, and the GHG emissions performance standard for baseload power plants which also involved developing regulatory criteria for carbon sequestration projects.
W. Spencer Reeder, holds the position of Lead Policy Strategist for Climate Change at the Washington State Department of Ecology and chairs the interagency steering committee overseeing the development of Washington State’s climate change response strategy.
